Return Policy

SUMMARY OF RETURN POLICY

 

We promise to work hard to ensure customer satisfaction with every purchase.  We strive to offer the finest merchandise and are confident that the design and quality of our merchandise will meet your expectations.  However, if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may exchange or return eligible items within 14 days of purchase for a full refund at the original purchase price.  An original receipt or gift receipt IS REQUIRED.  All products must be returned in original, unused condition and packaging.  Refunds will be tendered in the same method as the original payment.  Store credit will be issued for returns accompanied with a gift receipt.  Custom made, special orders, clearance, final-sale (as-is) and perishable or consumable items are NOT eligible for return.  We will refund a seasonal holiday item within seven (7) days of purchase with receipt if that associated holiday has not passed.  Otherwise, seasonal holiday items are not eligible for return after the associated holiday. 

 

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SALE

 

Limited Warranty:  Although Design Details (hereafter referred to as DD) cannot guarantee customer pleasure with their selection, we warrant that all merchandise will be shipped or delivered in a condition which meets standards set by the manufacturer.  EXCEPT FOR THIS, THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND ALL SUCH WARRANTIES ARE EXPRESSLY AND SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMED.  DD SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.  DD will provide designers and other staff whose goal is to achieve your reasonable satisfaction.  However, you are ultimately responsible for the decisions and selections made at your direction.

 

Product warranties are typically provided by the manufacturer and are generally limited to defects in materials and craftsmanship.  DD will honor any applicable manufacturer warranty.  All merchandise (except that sold “As-Is” or for commercial use) will be serviced at no charge for a period of one (1) year from the date of invoice if determined by DD to be defective due to workmanship or materials.  After one year, all service and/or repairs will be subject to availability and the customer will be charged at the prevailing rate.  When damage is due to (1) excessive use, (2) abuse, (3) incorrect care or cleaning, (4) exposure to direct sunlight or (5) extreme humidity or temperature conditions DD will not provide service.  DD reserves the right to repair rather than exchange merchandise covered by the service policy.

 

Purchaser is aware that dye lots on fabric, leather, carpet samples, finish and swatches may differ in shade from those delivered by the manufacturers.  All fabrics are first quality and have been selected from reputable mills, but since there is no warranty available to us concerning wearability, dye lot or color fastness we cannot extend any warranty on fabric.  DD is not responsible for any dye lot variances.  We do not warranty fabrics against wear, fading, cleaning or latent defects. Because of the varying conditions under which draperies and carpeting are used and their maintenance, we cannot guarantee any specific life expectancy. Because all upholstered furniture is custom made, measurements are subject to slight variances.  The cutting and placement of fabric is left to the sole discretion of the factory unless specified in detail in this invoice.  We cannot guarantee an exact match of color or grain in wood products due to natural imperfections such as knotholes, light or dark streaks and grain variations.

 

CANCELLATIONS & RETURNS

 

Special Orders include merchandise that is not regularly stocked and is ordered for a particular customer.  Cancellations and/or order modifications will be accepted only if we are able to cancel or change the ordered merchandise with the manufacturer or supplier.  If cancellation or order changes are not possible with the manufacturer or supplier, the customer cancellation will not be accepted, and customer will be responsible for purchase.

In-stock furniture purchases are returnable within fourteen (14) days of delivery provided that it is not damaged/defective and in it’s original condition, you will be charged a restocking fee of $75.00 in addition to any delivery and/or pick up expense incurred. 

 

Purchases are those marked down to give you extraordinary savings.  We will not service, store, return, exchange or refund purchases of “as-Is” merchandise.  All “as-Is” sales are final

 

PAYMENT TERMS

Payment may be made by cash, check, or major credit card.  Your account will be charged a fee of $30.00 for each returned check and no further credit will be extended until your account has been paid in full. Errors in arithmetic and pricing on sales orders are subject to correction.  In the event, you do not approve; we reserve the right to cancel the sale.  Payment must be received in full prior to delivery or pickup of merchandise.

 

DEPOSITS REQUIRED

 A minimum deposit of 30% is required for furniture orders, and full payment of the balance due is required prior to delivery.  A minimum deposit of 50% is required for all other orders, including window treatments, bedding, fabric, custom pillows, etc.  Sales orders are processed and orders are placed only upon receipt by DD of the minimum required deposit.

 

DELIVERY

 

DD cannot guarantee deliveries at any particular time during a scheduled delivery day.  If you are unable to accept delivery on the day scheduled, please contact us no later than 2:00 p.m. on the business day (excluding Saturday and Sunday) prior to the scheduled delivery day so we can reschedule.  Failure to provide adequate notification to us will result in an additional delivery charge.

 

Shipment estimates from the manufacturer are based on their experience and current commitments from suppliers.  Due to factors beyond our control (i.e. backordered/flawed fabrics or components, general production or freight delays, adverse weather, strikes, pandemics, etc.) we cannot and do not guarantee a delivery date.  Orders may not be cancelled, nor deposits refunded due to delivery times.  DD cannot be responsible for any delays or other issues caused by act of God or force majeure.

 

Once you have been notified that your furniture is ready for delivery, we will hold it for thirty (30) days at no charge (unless otherwise mutually agreed).  Thereafter, storage will be charged at 1.5% of unpaid balance per month or partial month until paid in full and delivered.  If customer does not accept merchandise within 30 days, customer will be billed regardless of non-acceptance of merchandise and finance charges will also be assessed at 1.5% of unpaid balance per month or partial month until paid in full and delivered if account is not paid in full according to terms of payments.  Customer assumes responsibility for reasonable access on delivery. 

 

If furniture will not fit into the area intended, we will make every reasonable attempt to modify or disassemble furniture to accommodate the intended area.  However, the cost of modification and any additional transportation will be the customer’s responsibility. 

 

This order will be completed as described on this invoice.  No variation on the terms of this invoice will be valid or enforceable unless shown in writing on this document.  No oral conditions, promises, or modifications of this invoice are valid.  This writing is the final, complete, and exclusive expression of our agreement.

 

If the order is placed by phone, we will mail you a copy of this invoice.  Telephone orders are subject to the same terms and conditions as orders signed in person.  These orders are deemed accepted when the customer’s sales order copy is mailed and/or deposit received by DD.  When you submit your deposit, it will acknowledge that you understand and agree to the terms of this invoice.  If customer disputes any aspect of this purchase or the applicable terms of this invoice, the parties will make a good faith effort to resolve the dispute through negotiation.  If customer brings a legal action in a court of law against the seller and the seller prevails in that legal action, the customer agrees to pay all court costs and the seller’s attorney fees.
